“Your World, Your Vision” Case Competition – Ernst & Young

Overview: A little bit about the competition: Unlike the typical case competition we did on campus, the EY Your World Your Vision Competition is focused around our areas of philanthropy – Environment, Education, and Entrepreneurship. Students of all majors and levels can create teams of 4-8 and develop any idea they think would better their community (and potentially expand from their community later on if they wish). The students are told they have a hypothetical $10,000 to develop any idea they think would be a great impact and benefit to the community (community can be anything from U of I campus, C-U area, etc.) They then make a detailed presentation to a set of EY judges, and if they win are selected to compete nationally. The winner of nationals is ultimately given $10,000 to fund their idea and run with it! U of I has won 2 of the past 3 years, and last year their idea was so good that they were even given prize money as well as the runner-up!

Teams: Open to all majors and ages (4-8ppl)

Timeframe: Final presentation is slated for November 30th on campus

EY advisors: Each team will be assigned 1 or 2 EY advisors that will work with the team to vet ideas and provide feedback along the process. We are free to open as much as the students need. We typically trek down to campus 1-2 times to meet in person and go through each team’s ideas/presentation before the final.

Registration: If you have a team, email katie.abraham@ey.com with their names, majors, & year in school.
