Two Opportunities Specific to IBC members:
- Hitachi Consulting: Hitachi will be at the Career Fair on Wed, 9/12. They’re looking for both December and May grads who are interested in consulting.
- Nielsen Case Competition: Last day to sign up is Wed, 9/12. Below are more details about the competition
Case Study Objectives: Theory
- • The opportunity:
–Actively engage in learning about Nielsen and our vast consumer research & consulting capabilities
• The challenge:
–Apply analytical thinking to explore the business issues facing clients
– Use supporting information / resources to develop actionable, success-cultivating insights – just like Nielsen associates do daily
• The pay-out:
–Learn more about what Nielsen employees do – specifically, how we help our clients through high-quality analytics
–Gain resume and interview-worthy experience by completing a challenging case in conjunction with an industry-leading company
–Present your findings to a Nielsen panel, which will include representation from the company’s senior leadership
–Showcase your team’s ability to work together, analyze data, and present information and yourselves in a simulated client-facing role
Case Study Objectives: Logistics
• How are the teams made up?
–A team must be comprised of 4-6 undergraduate students (all majors welcome!)
–Teams must be formed no later than 9:00pm on Wednesday, 9/12
• What will your team be doing?
–Addressing business questions presented by a manufacturer + retailer
–Using Nielsen data / assets to analyze those questions and deliver insight
• What is the timeline of the case?
–You will have until noon on Friday, 9/28 to email the completed case to Nielsen + 1 page white paper
–On Thursday, October 4, the Final Presentations will be held, where the top teams will present their findings to a panel of Nielsen employees
